bedpage FAQ
The questions we get most, answered directly.
Basics
What is bedpage?
bedpage is the general name for a category of US adult classifieds directories that emerged after Backpage was seized in April 2018. bedpage.cc is a modern implementation — city-organized, dated, free to browse. See the full explainer.
Is bedpage.cc the original bedpage?
There is no single original bedpage. The name is a category label, not a trademark, and several unrelated sites adopted it at once in 2018. bedpage.cc is a maintained, dated version of the category.
Is bedpage the same as Backpage?
No, and yes. Not the same company — Backpage.com was seized by federal agencies in April 2018 and its founders indicted. Same category — the bedpage sites are Backpage-style classifieds directories that filled the gap after Backpage went offline.
Is bedpage legal?
bedpage.cc hosts classified ads posted by third parties. Publishing classified ads is legal. What individuals arrange privately, on their own, is their business and their responsibility. bedpage.cc does not facilitate transactions, does not verify posters, and does not represent anyone.
Is bedpage legit? Are the reviews any good?
Bedpage-branded sites have mixed reviews across third-party review platforms — PissedConsumer sits around 1.6 stars, TrustPilot around 1.8, ReviewsIO around 2.5. Most negative reviews are about scam listings, not about the sites themselves being fake. That is a category problem, not a specific-site problem — the same scam patterns run on every adult classifieds directory. bedpage.cc addresses it by publishing the safety guide so you can spot the scam listings before you contact them.
Is bedpage US-only or international?
The bedpage category is international. bedpage.com covers cities across the US, Latin America (Costa Rica, Argentina), the Caribbean, Oceania (Australia, Guam), and parts of Europe. bedpage.cc is US-focused — 200+ American cities, no international coverage.
What categories does bedpage cover?
The classic bedpage.com carries the full Backpage category tree — jobs, real estate, cars, services, community, personals, and adult. Inside adult: female escorts, male escorts, transgender, TS, body rubs, massage, strip clubs, dating, casual encounters. bedpage.cc concentrates on the adult companionship stream because that's where most bedpage-category traffic actually goes.
Using the site
Is bedpage free?
Browsing every listing on every city page is free with no account. A free account unlocks private messaging.
Do I need an account to see phone numbers?
No. Phone numbers and contact info are visible on the listing page without logging in. An account is only needed if you want to message another user through bedpage instead of texting their number directly.
How many cities does bedpage cover?
200+ across all 50 states. Every city listed has active recent posts — we don't pad the sitemap with empty pages.
How often does bedpage update?
Fresh classifieds are pulled in daily. If a city page looks quieter one week, that reflects the market. We don't repost old ads to fake activity.
Can I post an ad on bedpage.cc?
bedpage.cc is currently browse-only for public visitors. The listings shown are aggregated from public sources.
Safety
Is bedpage safe?
bedpage.cc as a website is safe to browse — no forced SMS, no redirect chains, no malware pop-ups. Meeting someone from any adult classifieds directory carries its own risks, and those are on you to manage. The safety guide covers the four specific scam patterns to watch for.
How do I spot a scam listing?
Reverse-image search the photos, look for a real posting date, and read the description. If a first reply mentions "deposit," "Cash App," "Zelle," "gift card," "verification," or pushes you to Telegram, it is a scam. Full breakdown in the safety guide.
What if I already sent a deposit and got ghosted?
The money is gone. Cash App, Zelle, and gift cards are not reversible once claimed. Do not send more chasing it. Report the account/number to the payment platform, block, and move on. Consider it tuition for the deposit-scam lesson — the next listing is one scroll away.
Is bedpage.cc safer than the other bedpage clones?
Operationally, yes — dated listings, no redirect chains, no SMS wall, no fake city pages, private messaging built in. The scam patterns on the listings themselves are the same across the whole category, though. That is why the safety guide exists.
Are the listings verified?
No. No adult classifieds directory verifies posters, including bedpage.cc. Anyone claiming to run a "verified" adult classifieds site is either running a paid badge scheme (which posters game) or lying outright. Verification is your job — the safety guide is how you do it.
Is bedpage used for police stings?
Yes, it happens. Adult classifieds sites in general — bedpage, YesBackpage, Backlist24, Skip The Games, all of them — get used as bait channels by local vice units in some cities. The site itself is not illegal, and browsing is not illegal. Meeting a stranger from a classified ad and paying for a specific act named in an ad can be. This is a legal question, not a site question. If it applies to you, talk to a lawyer, not a message board. The safety guide covers the specific red flags in a listing that suggest a sting setup.
Accounts and data
What info do you collect if I sign up?
Your email (to log you in and recover the account) and your chosen username (what shows in messages). That is the entire footprint.
Is my email visible to other users?
No. Other users see your bedpage username. Your email is never displayed and never sold.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Contact us and we'll remove your account and associated messages.
Backpage, alternatives, and the category
Why did Backpage shut down?
Federal agencies seized backpage.com on April 6, 2018, and its founders were indicted under the SESTA/FOSTA framework signed into law that same year. The site never came back.
Are Craigslist personals coming back?
No public sign of it. Craigslist removed personals on March 23, 2018, days after SESTA/FOSTA passed Congress. The bedpage category exists in the gap that closure left.
What are the top bedpage alternatives?
The names that show up most often when people search "sites like bedpage": YesBackpage (the closest structural clone of bedpage.com, launched 2018), Backlist24, Skip The Games, Tryst (verification-focused), Adult Search, Kasual, Adult Friend Finder and Ashley Madison (dating/hookup rather than escort classifieds), Seeking, Hoobly, and Craigslist (for the non-adult categories only, since personals shut down in 2018). Full breakdown at bedpage alternatives.
What other bedpage-branded sites exist?
bedpage.com is the original and largest. Other domains that use the name at some point: bedpage.co, bedpagex.com, us.bedpage.com, mobile.bedpage.com, full-service.bedpage.com, bedpage2.com, and this site, bedpage.cc. Some are maintained. Most are stale scrapes or worse.
Which one should I use?
Honest answer: whichever one shows real, dated listings for your city and doesn't ask for your phone number to browse. That's the whole test. bedpage.cc passes both. Some clones don't.
Still have a question?
The safety guide covers everything the FAQ doesn't. What is bedpage covers history and category structure. bedpage alternatives reviews the 10 sites most often compared to bedpage. About bedpage.cc covers who runs the site and how data is handled. To browse, pick a city on the full city index or the state grid on the homepage.
